I had a sewage smell from toilet. So I changed the wax ring. The ring messed up when I installed it. So I bought a new one and installed that one instead. There is still a sewage smell, I assume just because the there wasn't a good seal on it for a day. I was wondering how long bathroom might smell or how to remove smell?

The smell won't go away until you get a proper seal on the wax ring. If your Closet ring is not installed properly there is a special type of wax ring with a plastic horn embedded in it. But even these won't do the job if there is no base or foundation for the wax ring to set on. Many times when the closet bend is below the top of the closet ring your foundation is not there so you have to install a "Dutchman" or piece of 4" PVC or ABS to fill in from the top of the bend to the top of the closet Ring... So if the Closet Bend is below the top edge of the closet ring by say 2", you must place a 4" x 2" piece of pipe in that space and lead it in if it is Cast Iron. If it is ABS or PVC, just glue it in so you have a base.

Is there an exhaust fan in the bath ? If so you can let it run for a while to remove any odors.

A traditional way to help with that odor is to put a lit candle in the bathroom. Or if the weather is nice you can open the bathroom window for a while. But if the sewer odor continues you may not have the toilet sealed properly.

I've had vent fan running for a few hours.

Put some damp towels all the way around the base of the toilet to seal it. If the odors stop then you know the toilet seal is not working.

An hour should have been more than sufficient , I'm afraid that there is still a sewer odor leak.

Pay attention to StuckinLodi and you will remove the problem. 99% sure of it.
