What is the overall opinion of the Rheem marathon water heaters.
Have a few rental properties and inconvience and less maintanance is the goal.
I did read somewhere that they dont take regular parts if the elements need to be replaced. So would have to have some in stock.
Could I really expect to get 20+ years out of the tank? Dont mind the extra cost if it may pay off.
read a few review of some problems with them.
Thanks

I'm not sure about the Rheem heater. But the HTP is a very good heater.

The few I've installed have been problem-free. The oldest is probably 20 years or so.

Much depends on the quality of your water. Too much Calcium will ruin any water heater or their heating elements over time. Again what is the quality of your water?

I far as I no water quality is not an issue around here.
Also have used some of the HTP ones before but that company has the worst customer service I have ever run into.
And on some they changed the warranty so does not cover the elements. And according to them has to use there elements and not a standard one. And of course their elements are a little over 100.00 each.

The elements on the Rheem Marathon are not 'standard', so I imagine they are pricey too although I have not had occasion to replace one yet.

I had one rental property with three apartments same AC unit same WH when I bought it. At the moment I bought it the Rheem 20 gallon water heaters were 34 years old! I double checked the model # and serial numbers to be sure LOL. They were working too.
A few months later a local plumbing store has new 30 gallon low boy Rheem WH on sale. I bought three and replaced the old one not because they don't work but just gotten a bit scary at 34 year old WHs.
