 loud well pump

i have a well pump in my basement that is very loud. not a big deal during the day but when it goes on at night it can actually wake me up. had it serviced and was told everything is in order and that it's just loud. any thoughts of how to sound insulate it?

What is the pump sitting on ? Sometimes I'll use 1/2" rubber bushings between the pump and floor.

If the noise is a result of loud motor bearings (failing), there is not too much you can do.

yes, as mentioned, check on the way the pump, motor and tank are mounted. If they are sitting on concrete or something thin just above the concrete that can be loud. Using a thick layer of wood, maybe with an old piece of carpet on the bottom, will soften the sound. Hardwood boards from a discarded pallet are tough and will last a long time. Make sure none of the pipes are against a wall or anything else, that can amplify the noise.
