Leaky check valve??

Just experienced humming ejector pump and overflowing pit which led us to replace pump. Washing machine and lower level bathroom which is rarely used are only 2 flowing to pit. Recently now noticed that ejector pump goes off at other times when no washing or LL restroom NOT being used, which means pit is filling up
Wondering where this is coming from?? Could it be possible leaky check valve??Or other cause??

Author: stuckinlodi (MO) Could the toilet down there have a leaky flapper valve, causing water to slowly go down the drain and into the ejector pit? Shutoff the basement/lower level toilet water supply valve, flush the toilet to empty its tank and see if this changes things. Edited 2 times.
