Grohe Euphoria Thermostat Not Hot Enought
Author: davidpugh71 (NY)

Hi All - I'm trying to calibrate my relatively new Grohe thermostatic shower valve. I've tried everything I've seen online and I'm unable to get the water as hot as the rest of the hot water in my apartment. Does anyone know if those valves are factory set and if there's a way to increase them. I've attached pics of the valve and cap which controls temp. I have moved the little white slider a few times and it does nothing. Even with the cap off, when I rotate the mixer to "full hot", it's not that hot, maybe 102F. I've measured the rest of the hot water in the apartment and it's 120F.

I've put four photos in my Google drive. Link is here:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could try contacting Grohe on their support webpage, see if they have any solutions:

There is a hot temp limiter in there, adjusting it should let you raise the temp to whatever your water heater temp is, minus a few degrees for pipe losses. I think the factory setting for the temp limiter is something like 100-105 degrees, due to liability reasons to prevent scalding complaints and lawsuits from customers.

I'm reposting a couple of your images here to make it easier for others to see them:

i don't understand why you can not get hotter than 102F ??
any grohe i have installed and adjusted will get very hot if turned all the way with the handle removed.
what you are supposed to do is turn the spindle until you get approx 109-112 and then install the handle with the indicator lined up with that corresponding setting.
so if you turn the handle to 112 that is what you get. the limit stop is in the handle and will turn no further than the 112.
this type valve is a PITA to set...
possible that blue piece is removed and rotated and re-installed so it will rotate further ???

Thanks to both responses. I appreciate you moving the images over to this site as I could not figure out how to post them!

I've reached out to Grohe and I'm getting some support right now.

I was equally surprised when I took the handle off and turned the inside thermostat to full hot and it didn't go to 120F (our building's water temp). That made me think there is another setting INSIDE the valve to over ride the factory preset. I just don't know how to access it!

I'll keep the post alive as I troubleshoot further, but the lukewarm showers are getting old!

Dave
