 Faucet Identification
Author: Sammi (WI)

I have an older Delta 2 handle faucet that I need to replace the stem unit.
How do identify the model of the faucet?

If it has lever handles, it takes a different stem than the round handle models, otherwise they are all the same.

i thought the stems were all the same ?
don't you just rotate one stem 180 deg and put it back so they open the same direction or oppose eachother, whichever is needed?

The lever handle stems have an 'insert' that only allows them to rotate 90 degrees. If you use the regular stems they rotate 180. Not a big problem, but not "natural".

i thought the lever 'handles' had the stop in them to keep them from rotating too far ??
that piece sticking up lines up with stops in the handle to allow it the 90 deg rotation.
so those can go on the outside or the inside and the flat on the stem can go outside or inside depending on which direction turns on and which turns off. also whether you use levers or round handles.

Nope. 1/4 turn stop part #rp24097 goes into stem #rp24096.
