 groaning in shower head hose
Author: Honeybee22 (AZ)

Hello,

When I turn on the shower water and pull up the knob for shower head, there is a groaning sound for a bout 5 seconds then everything is fine. It is like the water is having trouble getting up to the shower head.

Does anyone know why it is making this sound?

Thank you,

Its possible that there is some debris trapped in the screen at the inlet to the handheld, or in the tiny openings of the handheld itself. You might try removing the hose and checking for a clogged screen and/or soaking the head in a cleaning solution. Other than that a replacement may be the best option. I've found that the less expensive hose- head combinations are basically disposable after a few years .

Hello thank you for your reply.

This shower head is actually new. I bought it because I was having the same problem with the old one. I can check it out and see if this new one may have debris in it, but any other ideas maybe?
