Hello,
I have a tub/shower and when I pull up on the knob to turn shower head on there is a groaning noise until the water gets up thru the tubing and thru the head, then it stops and every thing is fine.
Not sure what this is and how to make it stop
Thank you

Is your spouse in the other shower at the same time? That groaning may be their reaction to the changing water pressure/temp. <joke>
As the water is sent up the shower pipe when you first pullup on the shower knob it has to force air out of the pipe and thru the showerhead. Does the sound seem to come from down near the tub spout or from up inside the wall? The diverter in the tub spout (pullup knob) may be vibrating and the sound is amplified by the tub spout and piping. Or the pipe inside the wall that goes up to the showerhead could be vibrating against a loose holddown strap. Does changing the water pressure to a lower flow with the hot/cold water controls before you pullup on the knob lessen the sound? If you reach up and hold onto the showerhead pipe and then pullup on the shower knob can you feel vibration or shuddering in the pipe?
