 Kitchen Faucet stopped working
Author: dawnant (WA)

I have a Water Ridege pull out faucet, one handle for cold/hot water (purchased at Costco about 8 years ago). I just finished doing dishes and turned it back on. A brief spurt of water, a small clunk and the watet has stopped completely. If I move the handle, I feel nothing, like no pressure of water. I have an insta hot at the sink and it is still taking in water. I have taken the handle apart, put it back together, no luck. I feel like something inside the faucet has broke, not allowing the handle to turn the water on. Any suggestions?

Does the pullout spray arm still work? On some faucets there is a valve or solenoid that switches water between the spray arm and the faucet, it may have gotten stuck in the spray arm position. Just a guess....

REmove the spout and see if water comes out of the hose.

I did unscrew the faucet handle from the hose and water did not come out. It's like someone shut the water off, but water does flow to it from under the sink.

Look under the sink for the hose that's attached to the pullout arm. If there is something there connected to the hose like a little box or similar that may be your problem. Post photo if you see something you aren't sure about.

If you can remove the hot-cold on-off handle you might see that the plastic part (cartridge or diverter) inside is broken.

Also, that brand of faucet is supported and serviced by a company called Danze. If you need any parts they should have them. If your faucet is not under warranty and it is bad you might want to just replace it, depending on the cost of the repair part. They have some repair information on their website:
