 I have a plumbing problem.
Author: GaryD (MO)

My house is uphill from my garage. I just ran water to my garage from my house basement. Now if I run water in my kitchen sink and then I turn the water on in the garage water stops coming out of my kitchen sink. If I run water in my garage without running water at the kitchen sink. Then later go to my kitchen sink and run water it has a lot of air in it. A little information about the house it has a well and from the well is a 1 inch to the water softener it goes in the water softener is 3/4 and comes out as 3/4 then splits and 3/4 goes to the garage and 3/4 to the house. How can I fix this problem? thanks advance.

Sounds like you don't have much pressure from your well. What is the elevation of the home compared to the lower garage? Every foot in elevation difference is approx. 1/2 pound of pressure so if the home is 50 feet above the garage you have to overcome approximately 25 PSI. How much pressure does your well pump your line up to?
