Howdy,
We bought an old country place and in one of the bathrooms it has a toilet with the tank bolted to the wall. Lettering in the tank says "Crane Ipswich". We would like to keep the toilet for old times sake. It seems that the former owner did a real quick repair in which they took out the old metal flush valve and threw it away, replacing it with a plastic flush valve. The new flush valve doesn't have enough threads to mate properly with the flush elbow. The whole thing leaks a bit and if it is bumped leaks more. I would like to replace this flush valve. Would a Douglas pattern valve be the best or does anyone have another suggestion?

Thanks for your help

I always use a Fluidmaster plastic flush valve in wall mounted tanks. The flush ell fits inside the flush valve and there's enough room for the lock nut and the compression nut on the ell.

Thanks,
I will give that a try!
