 Adding double sink & venting.
Author: Edmonton-Oil (Non-US)

Great site. Just want to eliminate confusion before I start. I'm starting to second guess the procedure.

Bathroom renovation, adding double sink. Existing sink drained horizontally into stack and wasn't vented (direct vented?) Sink is approximately 5 feet from stack. Tub and toilet all drain into same stack. I am planning on cutting the horizontal sink drain line, adding a sanitary tee and stabbing out for the first sink and a 90 decree elbow for the second stub out for second sink. In between the two sinks, I'll add a sanitary tee and vent vertically, then 90 it into the stack to vent. The biggest question is, can I cut into the vertical stack and vent? I should be able to. Am I asking the right question? Can anyone answer without pictures?

if there is nothing else draining into that stack from above yes you can tie back in for a vent.
you are not supposed to use a sanitary tee in a horizontal drain. must be a 'y' with a 45 in it.
might a well make the vent connection a 'y' and 45 as well.
