Cold water runs too slow in washing machine, takes forever to fill. Warm water setting comes out hot.

I hate when that happens. Was it always that way or did it happen suddenly without cause? What brand, which model and how old is your washing machine ?

There is something blocking the cold water, either at the faucet or the machine end.

There's usually a screen in the inlet valve, where the hose attaches and sometimes there's also a screen in onr of the hose washers. Remove the cold supply hose and check the screen(s).

yeah, remove the cold hose from the back of the machine. look into the fitting on the machine for a filter screen. clean it well. now aim the hose into a bucket and turn the water on to see if you have full flow from the hose. it's all called process of elimination..

it's been slower for quite awhile, but didn't realize how slow it had become until I heard a weird humming noise one floor above. I've had a couple more posts about removing the cold water hose and cleaning it. That's what I'll try, it's all corroded, so hopefully, I'll be able to unscrew it. If not, I'll call on a friend. Thanks!
