 PEX reliability question
Author: psnazario (WI)

I'm going to be finishing my basement this year and planning to put in a bar sink and new bathroom by tapping off my existing copper and plumbing things in with PEX. The local home store carries a lot of NIBCO brand PEX piping and fittings.

When I got home I googled NIBCO and read about a lot of lawsuits that have been filed against NIBCO and other PEX manufacturers.

So my question is, is PEX reliable and are the lawsuits more about particular manufacturers (like NIBCO) or PEX in general? Are there PEX tubing manufacturers that are considered more reliable and fitting types (brass vs plastic) that I should use?

Thanks for any advice,
Paul
