waste flange too close to wall
Author: TAG (CA)

I have a penal toilet that the builder of our home installed in our guest bathroom (you don't want to know why!)
In any case, we hate the toilet; the water level is way too high causing splashing, and the flushing action is too slow, often causing blockages. We want to change the toilet out for a residential toilet, but discovered that the waste flange is not the standard distance from the wall, as it is 4 1/4" wall to center!

The toilet is installed on a slab, and we are trying to avoid having to tear out the concrete.

Is there any residential toilet available with the waste outlet that close to the wall?

only thing i can think of is getting a TOTO unifit toilet and adapter then modify the adapter (somehow) to make it work.

No and penal toilets are usually so specialized, that I wonder HOW he even got it to work in a home.

The home was custom built, and he had the plumbing designed specifically so he could put in that toilet.

Thanks for that suggestion; I'll look into that toilet and see if we can make it work.
