 Stink in dishwasher
Author: Rick G (TX)

One year old Kenmore dishwasher. A day or two after washing and filling it stinks. The old one did not do that.

Does the DW drain hose connect to an air gap or have a counter height high loop?

Not sure what that means. The drain hose goes up to a overfill fixture that puts it in the sink if it is stopped up. After that it goes to the disposial.

That "overfill fixture" is an airgap. What do you mean by "and filling" in your original post? You wash/rinse a load of dishes. Remove the clean dishes and in a couple days, as you're filling with dirty dishes, you notice it smells?

Make sure that the hose between the Disposal and the Air Gap is clean. Remove the hose clamps and take it off to be sure it is clear. This could contribute to the problem you are having. See if this helps solve the problem.

Make sure you clean the food filter in the bottom of the dishwasher.
