think it's mold or mildew in ceramic bathtub
Author: ohmercyme (AL)

Grandchild left a large wet towel in the bath tub floor that stayed there and was wet for over two weeks. When I lifted it up and removed it, beneath were several, several very large dark chocolate brown spots on the bottom of the tub . The tub has had no rust sots and no broken or cracked places on its surfaces are still smooth as glass all over. In the 24 hours since I removed the wet towel the shiny dark brown color on the bottom of the ceramic tub in several places is fading, and has now become a lighter brown and has lost most of its sheen . There are like 5-6-7 spots and 2-3 are as large as a man's hand.

Is this mold or mildew? Or what ? And how can I safely remove it , please ? Thank you !

Have you tried cleaning it? I would put on some diluted bleach or premixed bath/kitchen cleaner that claims to kill mildew.

Before you even disturb or touch it, spray it down with a chlorine based agent (Clorox Cleanup). After setting an hour, flush the area with water. Whatever remains, clean the residual with more spray and water.
