 Electric Flush \ Assisted Flush
Author: Tom123 (MA)

Hi

We want to build toilet on first floor and plan to use the already existing septic tank at ground floor.
Problem is that all our local plumbers are saying that location of the toilet is too far from the tank ,so waste will clog down in the pipe and will never reach the tank.
What is way out. Will installing a electric flushing system or assisted flush system is solution ?
What can be done to make sure that waste reaches the tank even if there are 3-4 major turns and twist in the pipe which connects the toilet to tank.

I check there is assisted flush based toilet from Kohler-Power Lite Series. Any one used it to solve similiar problem ?

Any ideas suggestion will be greatly helpful.

who and how did someone determine that there is not enough drop over your distance to achieve 1/4"/ft slope. Possible 1/8"/ft grade with 4" pipe.

Hi

The problem according to them is the distance and number of turns.
Remember , we do not have a existing sewage line and everything need to be setup.
Basically this house i am talking is old one. So this new sewage line will need to cover atleast 40-50 feet distance and will have 2-3 turns in between.

Hope you got a better picture now.

The distance is not relevant if you have enough slope to get from point A to point B. You'll need a cleanout for every 2 90 degree bends.
A power assist flush only helps remove waste from the toilet trap, once it gets in the pipe it depends on gravity.

50 FEET is NOT a "long distance" and as long as the pipe has the required minimum slope there is no problem. Your only problem, unless it is a matter of slope, in which case NOTHING will help the toilets flush, may be the plumbers you are talking to and you need better ones.
