 Stuck delta series 1400 cartridge
Author: BillB (LA)

I have a stuck filter cartridge on a delta series 1400 shower and tub faucet. I removed the the valve and the filter stayed in place. I did not think I rotated the front part of the assembly when I pulled it apart. I found a thread where RookiePlumber posted and had the same problem. I can not figure out from the thread how he got the cartridge out. Lemon plumber, zep and packs answered, but I can not decipher this. I think that maybe all you have to do it pull hard to dislodge it, but not sure. If so, what do you use to pull on it. Like rookie plumber said, it looks like a mini set of binoculars. The 2 ports that the springs and seats sit in. Need help please, now!

There's an O-ring on the back of each barrel, that's probably what's holding it in place. Are you replacing the cartridge anyway ? You can grip the remaining part with a pair of pliers and slightly twist and pull. It should pop right out.

There is NO "filter cartridge" on the 1400 faucet.
