 No water in my house?
Author: JanC (NC)

I changed the filter cartridge in my whole house filter and now I don't have any water? I've changed the filter a hundred times and there was nothing different about this time. I've done the following to trouble shoot the problem so far with no success. 1) turned the main water back on, 2) neither the filter nor any of the pipes are leaking, 3) checked the breaker box to see if the breaker was tripped-it wasn't. I even removed the bottom of the filter canister that holds the cartridge and turned the water back on. Still no water coming from the bladder tank. It appears that the pump just suddenly stopped working, but I don't know why. I've had no signs of problems indicating that something was going wrong with the pump. Should I just call a plumber?

Do you have water at the hose bibb on the tank? Does your filter have a valve-in-head?

Is there a valve between the tank and filter that's still closed ?
As mentioned, some filters have a valve in the filter head that might be turned off.
