I just bought a home (23 years old ---the house, not me!), and when we flush the upstairs toilet, it begins to flush, then there's the sound of a small motor engaging, then it flushes HARD! When we removed the cover and flushed, it seemed that the sound was coming from inside the tank. Any thoughts on what this "motor" may be?
Thank you!

You may have a 'pressure assist' toilet where air and water are used to flush the toilet with force. Can you post a photo?

Yes, that's it! I googled "pressure assisted toilet" and that's what the tank looks like. Thank you!
(Sorry, no tractor!)
