Here's the problem I'm having:
Hot water only dribbles out of faucet and showerhead. Cold water works fine. Hot water works fine everywhere else in the house.
Here's what I've tried to no avail:
1. Replaced hot water compression valve in shower = no effect.
2. Took off hot water valve in shower and blasted hot water out of open pipe = no problems.
3. Switched hot and cold water valves just to see = cold side flows fine with hot water valve, but hot side still just a dribble.
At a loss.

It sounds like a stuck pressure balancing spool. Is this a single handle faucet? What brand of faucet is it?

There is a blockage in the port on the hot side. Hot water is making it to the stem, but not thru the port.
Turn the hot water off at the heater, remove the hot stem, plug the shower head and turn the cold water handle on, it will force the blockage free.
