 Hessco Passport jetted tub
Author: JodyC (MN)

I have many hairline cracks in the bottom of my Hessco Passport tub. It was bought in 1991, works great, and I love it. Can I repair these cracks before they get any worse?

You can repair them, or have the tub refinished but the cracks will likely reappear at a later late. The bottom of the tub is likely flexing and causing the cracks. If you remove the tub, and reset it in a bed of mortar and then have it refinished it would most likely not crack again.

if you contact a company that does fiberglass tub repair/refinishing, they may be able to drill some small holes in the bottom of the tub and inject some expanding foam under it. this will give additional support so it won't crack again. then they can fill the holes and refinish the tub.

It is a 'jetted tub' so there has to be access to the pump, and if so, expanding foam can be introduced there to fill the void under the tub.
