 Shower Hot Water Help
Author: hotwaterfixhelp (MA)

Hello everyone,

I haven't had hot water in my shower for about 2 years now. I haven't done anything about it for time and money reasons. But now I'm starting to want to get this thing fixed.

I have well water and no water heater, I'm not entirely sure how heating works but when we built the house it was described as being "heat as you go." It works pretty well in the sinks as the sinks get scorching hot. However, the showers in my house just stopped with the hot water. I believe one went before the other one but around the same time frame. The water on its own gets lukewarm at best. The water does get slightly hot if I turn the heat up a lot but even then it's not really hot it is just bearable.

About a year ago our well pump died and we had no water and had to get it fixed. When we got it fixed one of the showers was scorching hot for a few months then it died again.

Another weird thing about this is that if you're in the shower and you flush the toilet the shower will get pretty hot for about 2 minutes and then it'll get colder than it was before you flushed.

You need a plumber to check and test the system, because we cannot diagnose it using your description.
