Little oddity. Happens in both bathroom sinks. You turn on the hot water and once it gets hot, the sink starts filling like the drain is clogged. As soon as you add cold water, making it luke warm, the sink drains. Not a major issue, but I am just curious why this is happening.

Are both sinks in one bathroom? Back to back bathrooms? or not either of the previous?

Maybe it's not so much the temperature of the water as the height of the water in the bowl??

Yes both sinks are in the same bathroom. My wife's and my sink. We both noticed independently and one of us mentioned, and the other said, my sink does the same thing.

No, it seems to be the temperature of the water. You turn on all hot and when it starts running hot, the sink starts to fill. Then you add some cold water to the flow, and a few seconds later, the sink starts to drain. Very strange.

Do the sinks have stoppers or grid screen drains? If stoppers, remove a stopper and see what happens.

Try a controlled experiment: Fill a bucket with cold water, pour it down, and time its draining with a stopwatch. Then, wait a few minutes and repeat the experiment with a bucket of hot water. Please post the results back here.
