Help with rebuilding laundry sink faucet
Author: darxvad (HI)

I have this old school concrete utility sink that I love. The faucet has been leaking from both the hot and cold. There are no shut off valve on the faucet unless I shut the main off. So I've been putting a lot of force to get it to stop leaking. It was working for a while but now I have a leaking faucet and two broken handles.

Is there a certain type of handle that I can replace my broken handles with. I can't find any part similar to the ones that are on there unless I purchase a whole new faucet online. I will like to try changing the washer and handles out to see if it fixes the problem or if I have to purchase a new faucet/sink.

if the faucet from online is the same brand and model you can buy one and take the handles, stems, seats and spout off it and do a complete rebuild. then the old faucet will be like new.
there are fit-all handles available but they are very low quality..

One of the hats I wear is that of a certified independent home inspector. If I were to inspect a home with a concrete sink I would recommend removing the sink for health and safety concerns .First, it is next to impossible to clean a concrete laundry sink, and its weight would cause concern of collapsing. Concrete sinks of this type are no longer allowed and should be replaced. However the inspection is to inform the new buyer of concerns with a focus on health and safety issues.
