What size and type of flexible supply lines should I use on a water softener with a 3/4" bypass valve that has female inlet/outlets?

If that is even recommended!?!

I was thinking something along the lines of stainless braided or the corrugated (if that's the right term) that you would see on a water heater. Is it not advisable to use this stuff as I intend?

I wouldn't use copper next to a softener due to the high level ions present, but use a plastic lined connector with burst proof braiding on the outside if you need a flex connector instead of a 'hard' piped installation.

thanks, so what type of readily available hoses can I use? Theres a number of them online but they seem to be "push" fittings. Do I use something in conjuction with nipples on the bypass valve? Are the water heater hoses what I want to be using?

I saw those packy, although is rubber what I want to be using?

What about the flexible copper and stainless ones for water heaters?

Some of those say 3/4 x 1" though.... how do I configure that to my 3/4 bypass valve?

Plus the supply lines are female on both sides... I assume I would use male adapter on the copper side but what do I use at the bypass valve?
