I need to insulate the iron pipe with the outside diameter 1-3/16, and can't find the appropriate foam pipe insulation neither at HomeDepot, nor at Lowes. The nearest foam pipe insulation diameter is 1-1/2. Does anybody knows what foam pipe insulation diameter should I use and where I can buy it ? I'm in Brooklyn, NY. A big thanks in advance.

Lowe's has or can get 1 1/2", that's what I'd use.

Go to your local plumbing supply house and ask for pipe insulation for 1" copper pipe. It has an O.D. of 1-1/8" so you will only be 1/16" off your target.

when you order pipe insulation it is identified by the inside diameter of the insulation followed by the wall thickness of the insulation. so you would ask for 1 1/8 ID by 3/8 thick pipe insulation. the wall thickness can be gotten thicker. 1 1/8 by 1/2, 1 1/8 by 3/4 etc..

Thank you all for the prompt reply. I'm not a plumber at all, just DIY homeowner, and I think that this is the site where more experience people might share they knowledge with amateur, like me. North Caroline Plumber, you said that this is OK to use 1-1/2 insulation for 1-3/16 iron cast pipe, are you sure ? I've ready on HomeDepot web site that the difference between outside diameter of the pipe and inside diameter of the insulation shouldn't be bigger that 1/8. Also, can I use foam insulation to insulate pipes from / to water boiler, or only fiber glass insulation ?
Thank you.

You want insulation for 1" iron pipe. The o.d. of the insulation will vary depending on its thickness and R value.
