 Underfloor heating wont turn off
Author: matthewkeen (Non-US)

Its driving me crazy I have just had an underfloor heating system installed, the plumber connected it all up a few months back and the Electrician came and wired the thermostat last week.

The UFH has a pump which is controlled by the thermostat, there is no need for the pump though as I have my thermostat set to turn it on at 65 °F but the room is always at 76 °F so the thermostat never turns the pump on.

The floor is always warm, its not really hot but over the day it heats the room up too much.

Even when the pump is turned off there is still water flowing through the UFH.

Here is a picture of what I had installed, is something missing? Some sort of Zone Valve?

The pipes at the top are connected directly onto the central heating loop.

Any advice appreciated.

Matthew

You'll probably need a flow-control valve. Is the water in the main loop always hot ? Always circulating ? What are you using to heat the water ?

We don't have enough information to offer a proper diagnosis.
