Replacing Exterior Sillcock

Author: packy (MA) you gotta have some soldering skills to do that one. you may be able to locate and buy an exact replacement. then canabalize the new valve using all the parts to rebuild the old. it has to be exact. same brand etc.

Author: airsense00 (MI) I would replace the parts but when I went to take the front nut off the spigot it snapped right off, it is stuck, plus the thing leaks like crazy. I've never soldered before but I've seen it done. I was thinking of cutting it right below the 90 and raising the incoming pipe a little.

Author: KCRoto (MO) I would sweat the sillcock off first, then desolder the lower 90, or the pipe from it. Keep fire protection handy ALWAYS! If you properly clean and flux your joints, it should be fairly simple as long as the water isn't still dripping through. Water leaking through the pipes will make the joint fail 100% of the time.
