 no hot water

hi im new here

i just replaced a hat water valve in my crawl space ( to a bathroom )

now i have barley any hot water (pressure?) to rest of whole house...

i tried opening / closing faucets tubs thinking air in lines...

ill get 10 seconds of hot water... then none ... after 5 minutes... ill try again and get a little hot water...

thoughts??

what did you shut in order to make the repair?
it sounds like whatever you shut did not re-open fully.

i shut off main water

i could feel ( hear) the water reenter when i turned back on

and i shut off hot water heater incoming ..

i think that is fully closed ...

that valve isnt a ball valve . it kind of just spins forever

then it sounds like a gate valve where the gate has seperated from its stem. only hope is to replace the gate valve. you can probably get it apart and pull the gate up and out of the channel it slides into. toss the gate away and put the top of the valave back on. this will give you water again until you have to turn it off. so replace when you can.

It's probably a gate valve that dropped its gate. If so, you'll have to replace it or remove the gate.
