just got a new American Standard 2 handle set...to save tile I'm replacing with the same type.

NOTE: there is no shower so the top opening [SH] on top of the brass casting is capped. My sewer plumbing contractor installed it but could not get water to flow to the tub. He said it was defective valve body???

Another faucet guy I spoke with said we need to knock put the (plastic?) "T" in the middle of the mixing valve. That way water will flow.

Does this make sense?

Author: hj (AZ) Neither one makes sense, but since you do not have a shower, you might as well remove the restrictor, but that would NOT stop water from flowing, anymore than putting the plug in would.
