 New kitchen part II
Author: mikepietrzak (Non-US)

Hi,

I'm putting in a second kitchen on floor 2 of my house to create a rental apartment.

Last week I posted a drawing and got some good feedback. No you cannot drain into a vent. Got it. This week I've come back with new drawings. Have a
look, here: [imgur.com]

In the first drawing I need to punch out a wall and put a new vent in the roof (Connecting to the main stack will be too much hassle). I'm not too keen to work up there as there's about a foot of snow on the roof.

In the second drawing I would run a new wastewater line and connect with the downstairs sink line, and use the existing venting. I think this is the better solution but please point out any fatal flaws before I start busting out walls.

Your help is much appreciated!

Mike

you are on the right track bringing the second floor drain below the first floor sink. this preserves the integrity of the first floor venting.
your second floor layout is not very good. needs better drawing and washer and sink must be seperately vented.
