 Help With Powers? Hydoguard?
Author: JD730RowCrop (NY)

Hello-
I have a drippy shower faucet and I need help with identification and parts numbers for a repair kit. Thus far a local plumbing company and my local supplier have not helped – so I am turning to the web for assistance – Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I have linked photos below. The information on the tag is stamped faintly, but I believe it reads:

222-026
7 Gallon
Model 373
Temp 115

What model is this? (I think it might be a 420? But then why does it say 373 on the tag?)
What parts kit(s) do I need to repair a drip?
I see there are “upgrade” kits for model 420s? If this is a 420 should upgrade?

Help!

You do have a Powers Series 420, with a 420-337 Lucite Handle Assy. Powers made 8 different models of the 420 Series. Look for the date code (usually found on the name plate) The date code (not to be confused with the product code or part number) is a four digit code. Its purpose is to record the model version number of the product itself and the date of manufacture.
For Example, on the Date Code 7F48, the first digit is the model. Also look at the motor. If there is no number on the bottom it is the standard 115 set temp. If it has a letter H, it has a range of 75-175 degrees. And L indicates the low range 40-90 degrees.
Powers likes to promote the use of "kits" when servicing their mixing/tempering valves.
Also call PowersControls for additional help 800-669-5430. They can also refer you to an agent, rep and dealer.

Wheelchair-

Thanks. I will call today.

I looked the valve over carefully, an I realize that the model number I thought was "323" is actually "3Z3" I can't find a 4 our digit code at all. Is it possible that 3Z3 is my date code?

Thanks for the help!

I was taught by Powers, that series had 4 digits. But that was when Powers Hydro Guard was located in Skokie, IL. I'm sure your conversation with customer support will address all of your questions. If not, let me know.
