Hello all! My toilet has been leaking. I checked the flapper, and it seems to be ok, but I'm going to look again. But I found 2 big, long (about 3 inches) screws at the bottom of the tank, in the water. What on earth could they attach to, and could they be the cause of my leaking? Thanks!

They should NOT have anything to do with the leaking, and should not be part of the toilet tank either.

Aren't those the bolts that attach the tank to the bowl? My toilet has three and there is rubber in between the tank and bowl that the bolts go through. Mine were loose and causing a leak at the bottom of my tank

If they WERE the tank bolts and they are laying INSIDE the tank, it would not only pour water on to the floor, but the tank would also fall off.
