 Basement bathroom
Author: can200 (WV)

Shallow bedrock prevented us from maintaining a downhill slope to our septic tank from the preinstalled under slab drain line. Instead we had to install the drain line about 15 inches up the basement wall from the floor. I still have ceiling height to put in a bathroom on a raised floor and the main vent/drain stack is in that same room. So the stack comes down into the room and turns 90 degrees and exits the house through cinder block wall. Is it possible to dismantle the 90 elbow taking the stack outside the house and put in some sort of "T" and extend the drain further inside for use as a drain for this basement bathrooms needs or is this just going to flood all the time?
Thanks
Court

yes you can probably add a bathroom

but

you will require an actual on site inspection by a qualified plumber to tell you how

yeah you can.
i might think about digging outside, close to the house, and put a "Y" into the pipe out there.
especially if it is only cinder block.
i think it would work better than if you change that 90 for a sanitary tee.

Cool I already though about this but it will be a lot of extra work but probably worth it. Thanks.
