I recently purchase a Mira Shower sport to replace the old model which started to leak.
We have removed the shower and we could see that the pipework would come from the floor up, concealed thorough the wall. The shower connected straight from the rear.( see attached picture)
We have bought the new Mira sport, which showed on the box that the shower would also connect from rear, top and bottom. However, in the INSTALATION section at point no 2 is stated that “DO NOT USE an incoming supply entering the shower directly from the back. Add an elbow to the supply pipe and connect it as a rising or falling supply”.
What shall we do- do we still need to add the elbow recommended? The plumber could actually
fit the shower without the additional pipe work need it to enter the unit from either the top or the bottom, but we put the job on hold as the instructions were not clear to us. We were not sure whether the swivel arm (inlet connector) has some internal parts which would not work properly and the shower might get damaged for not having the elbow connected.
Any feedback is much appreciated.

The best place to find out if the swivel arm could be removed would be from the manufacturer. I would recommend calling their customer support number.

it may not have any integral component necessary to proper water flow but it may have a propritary thread connection that might be difficult to match-up with a straight adapter fitting.
just a guess????

This shower scares the hell outta me. I don't know if I want to be in the same tub as that shower and I'm not sure if its approved for North America...... yet. 6 gpm shower is excessive and rubbing up against 8-10 kw, while scrubbing my back is not what I call a shower.
I realize you are in another country and Mira Sport is not available here. As other have suggested, contact the manufacturer in Australia.
Best Wishes
