Hi, I have changed sump pumps from flotec to a liberty 404 pump. I've hooked liberty pump up to the existing pipes which the flotec pump used. It's a 3 pipe set up - in, discharge and vent. Now when I turn the liberty pump on it tries to pump water up to the discharge pipe and after the cycle stops the water shoots back into the kitchen sink. The kitchen sink and the pump are below the grade but the distance to the main pipe is only about 6 feet. Flotec did work fine without this issue. When the contractor installed flotec he did say that he installed a check valve. Unfortunately the check valve is a pain to get to - it's behind the wall cabinets so I would need to dismount them if it comes to it. Let me know if any more information is needed - hope someone could point me in the right direction as to how to get the liberty pump to work. Thank you.

Author: packy (MA) just install another check valve in front of the cabinets. two check valves will do no harm..
