Moving waste pipe out of basement
Author: Lee (NJ)

I am moving waste pipe which is hanging from joists in cellar to outside in the soil.

Question - when it comes to the waste pipe can I have an elbow close to another elbow? I am concerned about turns or elbows being too close to one another without a bit of straight pipe in between elbows.

Thank you

No problem with doing it, but good plumbing practice usually finds a better way to do it.

No, Bernbeau.

I actually have a Licensed Plumber putting in a Bathroom in the basement. I am removing the waste pipe myself and building the new waste pipe and placing the waste pipe outside in the soil. I am in the planning stage of moving the waste pipe and was unable to get in contact with my Plumber. I have to move on this phase of the project because in Northern NJ the weather will be changing soon. Digging trench etc.

I have finally been able to make contact with the Licensed Plumber and was able to ask him some questions. The waste pipe will be done according to code.
