 Faucet water not flowing
Author: Dodi246 (MA)

After turning off the main eater supply to install new shut on & off valve because the old one leaked, all water was running ok except the bathroom sink. Initially a spirt of dirty water came out then nothing. All other faucets and toilet works. One other thing is that while turning the main valve off and on again to see if it would help, the bathtub water was deity with what looked like sand. This did go away. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it. Thank you

remove the aerator from the faucet and flush the hot and cold lines, then clean and replace the aerator onto the faucet. edit- It sounds like your hot water tank needs the sediment drained as well.

quote; deity with what looked like sand.

If this was "golden" sand, then you may have a broken water softener, which could also be the reason your sink faucet aerator is clogged.

I can't believe how great this site is. I took the aerator off and it worked. Can't believe how much this saved me, I would of had to pay lots and the fix was easy enough even for a woman like me to do myself. Thank you very much.
