 whirlpool tub jets leaking
Author: darla (NJ)

All my plumbing products seem to have a 12 year life cycle. Within days of experiencing a leak in my shower valve, I noticed a drip drip drip coming out of two parts of my American Standard Cambridge whirlpool tub. My searches seem to bring up only tubs, not small parts. I'm guessing there's some kind of seal for these - one is a jet, the other a filter maybe? See photo. Both are dripping slowly.
Besides suggestions on parts, I have a question. Where is this water coming from? If I replace seals or gaskets, won't water still be building up behind them? Should it be there at all if it hasn't been used in weeks? Is it coming from my leaky shower handle? I'm waiting for the new cartridge from Grohe so that part of the equation will be corrected soon.
Thanks,
d
