Recently my harrinton shower body diverter stopped diverting. Unfortunately Iit's an older unit and do not make a replacement diverter. Since I have to break wall etc I am thinking maybe bypassing the diverter and using a tub spout with a diveter. Is this possible. The shower body is a one handle unit not with a separate handle for a diverter. Any help and or diagram is appreciated.

If it does not have a separate handle for the diverter, how do you operate the diverter?

This one could quickly become an Abbott and Costello routine. He doesn't operate it...It doesn't work. confused smiley If he's breaking open a wall, why not change the valve?

I take it that he is saying he would have to break the wall to change it, and wonders if a diverter spout would do the job without breaking the wall. And the answer is MAYBE but until we know what kind of diverter he has, since he says it is NOT part of the valve we cannot make a recommendation.
