My shower have this style of valve like a standard door-knob. Photo shown here:

There is no setscrew hole, nothing on the entire knob. How to remove the "knob" to fix valve leak?
There is a visible gap about the thickness of a credit card between the brass ring and the main knob body. The "texture" on the knob is not really there. It's just the camera flash pick up the reflection of the wall tile texture. The whole thing is smooth.

The chrome cap at the end of the knob may possibly come off to reveal a screw head under the cap. If so, it would simply pry out and away by inserting a thin edged blade (careful!) under it.

either that or the end may unscrew from back part revealing the screw.

IT could unscrew, but it may have a rubber gasket between it and the handle which will make it tight to unscrew.
