 kicking the thermostat reset button

my water heater is only 8 months old and the top element went out do to it was dry fired so i replaced both upper and lower element now the reste buton is tripping and i notice it more after i get out of the shower it is a state water heater

Perhaps, your dry start did more damage than the elements. Have you considered replace the reset assembly?

You could have installed bad elements, which is the usual cause of the reset button tripping, or the upper thermostat could be bad, but a bad lower one can also cause the problem. You could also have a loose connection on the upper thermostat. Therefore, there is no way to diagnose the problem without being there and testing EVERYTHING.

You should probably replace the upper and lower thermostats as well. Does your water get extremely hot before tripping the reset?
