 Pipe Making Noise

When I flush the toilet, then go to wash my hands at the sink. When I turn the water off at the sink (toilet still running/filling), I hear a loud banging in the water pipes. This is a second floor, master bath. I don't hear the banging in the pipes if I wait for the toilet to finish filling and then use the sink. Any suggestions? Explainations? Help! Thank you.

I think that you have a fill valve that needs to be replaced.

might be too much pressure entering home , which means a new pressure regulator or more common and easy, the valve to the toilet is not opened all the way or the ones under your sink are not opened all the way. this is called valve chatter....
