I have a two inch well and a 1/2 hp Goulds pump in the basement. The pump is a year old and the bladder is also that old. I had the well checked at the same time. The system has been running with minimum hissing until we started to get a lot of rain three weeks ago. I am now again getting more hissing from the faucets, mainly in the hot water line and mainly in the morning and mainly downstairs and in the basement. The hissing doesn't last all day. My plumber wants to replace supply side pipes in the basement which have a faucet attached. He is not planning to pressure test these pipes before he replaces them His next plan it to check the drop pipe in the well which was replaced last year. Then he will do a pressure test in the water line which is under the driveway. It is about sixty feet from the well to the basement. The hissing in the lines was the reason I had all the work done a year ago, and it is back again.
