Pvc pipe fitting moved after being glued
Author: mark251 (NY)

I'm running a 1 in. pvc waterline, I just glued the elbow on and then seen my ball valve wasn't lined up where it should have been. I had to turn my elbow about 1/4" to a 1/2" to have everything line up properly, I probably moved it about 30 sec or so after it was glued, it move fairly easy but I'm not sure if the joint will bond and cure properly, should I cut it out and redo it?

30 seconds is a long time, I seem to remember reading some PVC cement instructions saying to prevent the fitting and pipe push out hold them together after it bottoms for about 30 seconds so this is kind of an indication where to draw the line although I usually hold for 15 seconds before letting go. Plus this is a pressure line not a drain I would remake the joint especially if it's a joint to be buried and covered with no easy access later.

That's what I was worried about being a pressure line, if it was a drain or vent vent line I wouldn't have minded as much. I'll cut that section out and redo to be on the safe side, thanks...

What I have to do next is connect 1" PVC to 3/4" CPVC pipe, can I use male and female adapters to connect the two, what would be the proper way to go?
