Hello all,and thank you in advance! So, I have a neighbor who has a 30yo moen push pull tub and shower faucet with the 1225 cartridge. The valve is fine and they want to install matte black trim kit. I know it's not a pressure balancing valve, but has great pressure, and on the 2nd floor with little to no access to the valve as it's tiled shower wall, and no access behind. So, they want to keep the old valve, and just update the trim kit to matte black. I know moen has the moentrol trim kits, but I was told the 2 bottom screw holes for the escutcheon won't line up exact. But I heard they have a retrofit escutcheon adapter that when installed, the moentrol trim will fit up to the old escutcheon screw holes. I can't find old style trim in matte black, just chrome. Any thoughts? Has anyone used that adapter to make the moentrol trim work out? If so, is there a model/part number for adapter? Theres a wide selection of moentrol matte black trim kits, and would be much easier to leave the valve there, and just update the trim. I know the pressure is better with the older valve, but not pressure balancing which is fine, as it has been for 3 decades anyhow. Thanks again for any ideas.
