I have a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub installed in 1992. My wife asked me to replace the original Jacuzzi Rainbow Fill /Faucet kit with a faucet kit that includes a hand sprayer. Inspecting the plumbing, I noticed an anti-siphon valve installed between the supply lines and the faucet. This was an option described the original installation instructions “if required by local codes.” The valve is leaking. My inclination is to remove the anti-siphon valve and plumb the new faucet without it; however, the only reason I can see needing this would be when using a hand held sprayer that can be submerged in the tub. Any advice would be appreciated.
