The faucet handle on the hot side had its inner stem (place where the cartridge fits in) turn around and make the handle out of alignment. Tonight my daughter was using it and it wouldn't shut off until I checked the washer and realigned the cartridge
Question is...how do I fix it without ruining the brass valve that the cartridge goes in. I got it to turn off but the brass valve where the cartridge goes in is off at least 30 degrees
Pictures of gerber faucet in my Google Drive here: [drive.google.com]
Any help is appreciated
Eric

If the cartridge is indexed in the body, the body has rotated in the tub hole and needs to be rotated back to realign the handle position. Do you have access to see the underside of the hot valve?

I do not as it has tile in the front of the tub and the access in the back wall (in my bedroom closet) does not allow me to get to the front where the faucet valve is.

What is behind the wall on the valve end of the tub?

It's a spa type tub with jets so it has all the piping for the jets in the way of the faucet.

No, the handle functions as normal however it looks like the cartridge does need to rlbe replaced which I can't do. The problem I have is that the brass part that the cartridge fits in is turned and doesn't line up like the cold water one.
If you look at the Google Drive again I uploaded the problem with accessing the faucet connection to the water pipes (bathroom tiling on the side of the bathroom tub)

if the water turns on and off then yhe cartridge is doing its job.
there is some sort of angle shaped detent that only allows the cartridge to rotate so many degrees of the 360 degrees possible.
im guessing the detent is broken
should be an easy fix if you can identify the faucet, remove the chrome rings from the top and find the proper replacement parts.
sometimes the detent bump is in the handle ???
this is NOT what you have but it will give you an idea of what you are looking at.

delta calls it a turn stop.

Is the area below the floor the tub is resting on accessable from below(basement?)? A socket placed on the cartridge retaining nut would probably straighten the valve body, that's probably how the body rotated in the first place, but I'd be concerned about flexing back the supply tubing below the valve body.

Detent in the handle is fine (has 2 lines that stop the thick part on th cartridge). The brass part itself it turned around. I need to try to find a way to access under the valve as I don't want to twist it and damage the supply line especially when there is not a dedicated shutoff valve for the tub (have to turn off at the main to work on it).
